In the future labor market of the World Economic Forum, emotional intelligence ranks sixth among the ten best skills that workers need.

What is EQ? How does this affect your work schedule and your ability to connect with your team?

In general, emotional intelligence refers to a person’s ability to perceive, understand and manage their feelings and emotions. According to the psychologist Daniel Goleman, it has five main components of EQ.

1. Self-confidence

It means knowing your own self, understanding the weaknesses, strengths, motivations, values and impact on others. These factors are fundamentals for a good intuition. In practice, this is like the trust and the desire for constructive criticism. If a person is responsible, he or she can know that tight deadlines express his or her worst case. Confident and emotionally intelligent people will plan the time and do the work well before the deadline.

2. Self-management

4. Empathy

According to the Gorman model, the person who has a greater ability to self-regulate and motivate itself, which reduces the tendency to drag and increase their self-confidence, can focus on long-term goals.

Managers that have a high EQ, help teams to collaborate more effectively and identify specific factors that motivate employees and, they can develop teams which have completely different emotional intelligence.

The ethical issues regarding personal relationships and EQ

Due to the nature of interpersonal relationships, there are many potential moral deficiencies. If a person has a personal relationship, especially if it depends on another person, as a child, or as a spouse with a free-will relationship, there must be some confidence. In fact, in this relationship, many people think that anyone who abandons trust in intimacy is a person with a special morality.

Unfortunately, the confidence of a particularly high EQ and another person can be very damaging and harmful, but not mandatory. While the value of emotional intelligence may be inherent in regulating other people’s emotions, it can lead to destructive and manipulative behavior, but it can also play a positive role. How can become more emotionally intelligent?

Obviously, people are emotionally intelligent, but they need to spend more time evaluating themselves and studying their emotions.
